Paul, Peter, and James. Three men of God with great encouragement, and direction for the Lord's people.

Three of these I beleieve can be used as measuring sticks for our walk with the Lord...

-- Have I been displaying steadfast (fixed, established, unwavering, firm in purpose) faith? Do I cling to what I know to be true about God in times of darkness or am I quick to drop my beliefs at any doubters remark?

"Never forget in the darkness, what God has shown you in the light!"

-- Do people speak of the genuineness (sincerity, free from pretense, honesty, reality, authenticity) of my faith? When I share God's Word is it from my heart? Or do I recite notes, and/or the thoughts of others? Does my passion for obedience, righteousness, and real life overflow my heart in outward acts of Christ-like love, grace, mercy, and peacefulness? Does my family see it in me first? Genuineness is important. Are you living in sincerity?

-- Do I share my faith?! If I try to practice the previous challenge of honesty I would have to say, "not as much as I should." I'm great with fellow believers because I know they won't ridicule me, and will for the most part, agree with me. But what about the lost? My co-workers, my classmates, my coach and teammates, the people at my gym, the toll booth attendants, etc. The world needs a Savior...show Him to them! Carry your Bible around, wear Christian clothing, listen to Christian music in their presence, talk about him, pray for your food in front of people, make plans "in the will of the Lord", etc. I am exhorting myself as much as I am you. Let's be contagious Christians!

The last two go together, I think.

-- Look to, what is, the end of your faith (salvation, eternal life, a heavenly home with The Creator of the universe, etc.) to give you strength during times of testing! There is a bright light at the end of the dark tunnel, and His name is Jesus. He loves you, and He promises to be with you through it all. And when it's all over...He will take you Home.

Praise God for his perfect plan and unconditional love for you and me.

Let's be genuine and steadfast in our faith.
Let's share Gods love with EVERYONE!
And let's look upward in prayer and forward in hope during trials!

God bless you today,

Andy Fritchey
