Russell Athletic commercial during the Canes game just used the line "we are more than conquerors". Do you even know what that means? That line is from Romans 8:37. The author was writing to maybe the most persecuted church of all time. They were stoned, burned at the stake, and cut in half by swords to name a few things. They had no idea what kind of peril awaited them when they woke up each morning. But in all of that, they could be more than conquerors. They could be more than conquerors because they have a God who is never surprised, never shocked by anything that happens. And no matter what this chaotic, random world took from them, even if it took the thing it has deemed most precious (our physical lives), they still win. They still win, we still win, because even if this life is taken from us we get the best thing, an eternity with our God and Savior Jesus Christ. "For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord" Romans 8:38,39
